We understand that customers are concerned about the diesel spill that occurred at Four Mile Branch Creek earlier this week. We want all customers to know that the location and creek impacted in no way threaten the drinking water resources managed by Spartanburg Water. The spill occurred miles below our reservoirs and treatment plant. Our community should remain confident in the safety and integrity of their drinking water. Thank you as always for your continued support and concern.
Optional Home Service Line Protection Now Available
Spartanburg Water has partnered with Service Line Warranties of America (SLWA), an independent company that offers optional protection plans for the water and sewer service lines that connect your home to our systems and the interior plumbing and drains in your home. This program is designed to help homeowners prepare for the cost and inconvenience of a home repair emergency.
Understanding Your Responsibility
Many residents are not aware that they are responsible for the maintenance and repair of the service lines on their property that connect their homes to our systems. These repairs are not covered by Spartanburg Water, and most basic homeowners’ insurance policies do not cover repairs needed because of normal wear-and-tear.

An Optional Solution
To assist homeowners, we have partnered with SLWA to make available voluntary service plans. Key features of the program include:
We encourage you to review both your homeowner’s insurance and the service plan details to determine if a plan from SLWA is a good choice for your household. You may also want to check with your homeowners’ insurance provider to see if similar coverage is available.
For more information about the program, please contact SLWA directly at (866) 922-9006 or visit slwofa.com.
