December 18 Temporary Water Service Shutdown and Boil Water Advisory
SPARTANBURG – On Thursday, December 18, from 8 a.m. to approximately 2 p.m., Spartanburg Water crews will be working on a temporary waterline shutdown and rerouting effort to assist with a Spartanburg County project.
Following the restoration of water service, all impacted customers will be under a Boil Water Advisory until further notice. Customers living on the following roads will be impacted by the shutdown and Boil Water Advisory:
The Boil Water advisory is a precautionary measure for this type of project. Until test results can be reviewed, customers are advised to boil water intended for drinking or cooking vigorously for at least one (1) full minute. Then cool the water as needed prior to use. Also, any ice made during the period of this advisory from water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.
Spartanburg Water teams are working to ensure that this advisory can be repealed as quickly as possible, and will notify our customers once water quality sampling results have been received from our SCDHEC-certified laboratory.
