Following the waterline break on Friday, December 5, some customers experienced brown or cloudy water, due to the re-direction of water service through waterlines. We have continued hydrant flushing to assist with clearing the lines of sediment, and we are seeing great progress. Please note, that while water may appear discolored, there are no concerns with the water’s quality or safety.
Running cold water through your faucets for at least 5 minutes will also assist with flushing out any remaining sediment.
Hwy. 221 remains open to traffic, though we ask drivers to remain cautious while driving through that area.
Thank you for your continued patience and support.
Beginning January 1, 2025, Spartanburg Water will implement new water and sewer rates for both base and volume charges. The Commission of Public Works and the Spartanburg Sanitary Sewer District both voted to adopt small, incremental rate increases for the next three years. With these rate changes we can remain fiscally responsible, while continuing to provide industry leading water and wastewater services to our ever-growing community.
The rates adopted are on a calendar year schedule.
