Update for Our Customers

Earlier today, Spartanburg Water had a waterline break on Hwy. 221 that caused customers to experience a drop in water pressure, with a few customers experiencing service loss.

Repairs are currently under way. Some customers may see brown or cloudy water, due to the re-direction of water service through waterlines. While the water may appear discolored, there are no concerns with the water’s quality or safety.

Crews are currently working to return Hwy. 221 traffic to normal flow, and also working on flushing fire hydrants to assist with removing sedimentation concerns.

Spartanburg Water Warns of Potential Utility Scams

October 7th 2024

Spartanburg Water wants to warn the community about potential scams that have been reported across the United States. A supposed utilities representative calls a home or business stating that they are a representative of the local utility and directs customers to make a past due utility payment at Walmart with a credit card or with a prepaid card or money order. The calls have been reported as coming from a “cloned number” that shows on Caller ID as the local utility’s Customer Service number.

Under no circumstance does Spartanburg Water ever call its customers to request travel to a retail store to make a payment. If you receive a call from someone stating they represent Spartanburg Water and they ask you to provide them payment information over the phone, or travel to a retail store to make a payment, we recommend that you terminate the call and contact Spartanburg Water at (864) 582-6375. We urge all of our community members to never provide their personal information to strangers or provide payment when they receive a call.
