Our employees volunteer over 265 hours during annual Day of Caring
May 13, 2019.
Spartanburg Water employees and their families once again put their skills, resources, and hard work on display to help nonprofit organizations throughout Spartanburg County with much-needed projects.
Spartanburg Water, in partnership with the United Way of the Piedmont, held its 12th Annual Day of Caring on Saturday, April 27. Nearly 90 volunteers dedicated over 265 hours of work to six local nonprofits. Projects included gardening, cleaning, painting, food preparation and service, as well as organizing and sorting donations.
The day not only encourages employees to give back; it is also an opportunity for them to learn more about the nonprofit organizations in our community.
The nonprofits highlighted during this year’s Day of Caring included:
- Hub City Farmers’ Market
- Hope Center for Children
- Spartanburg Soup Kitchen
- TOTAL Ministries
- Upstate Family Resource Center
- Hope Remains Ranch
“The Day of Caring not only exemplifies our mission as an organization, it also demonstrates our employees’ dedication to giving back,” said Sue Schneider, Chief Executive Officer of Spartanburg Water. “Year after year, our team volunteers their service on their own time. I am honored and humbled by the work each staff member contributes to our efforts. Our community is made better by this kind of passion and participation.”
