Repeal of Boil Water Advisory: New Cut Road Area Water System

Effective Date: 9/20/21 – 9:30 PM

To Spartanburg Water Customers on the following roads, as well as surrounding roads and developments:

• New Cut Rd. from Fairforest Rd. to Mitchell Rd.
• Mt. Zion Rd. from New Cut Rd. to Campground Rd. and Green Rd.
• Mitchell Rd. from Mt. Zion Rd. to Settle Rd.
• John Dodd Rd. from I-26 to Jordan Creek Farm Rd. and Russell Rd.
• Jordan Creek Rd. from John Dodd Rd. to Gibbs Rd.
• Campground Rd. from New Cut Rd. to Mt. Zion Rd.

A precautionary Boil Water Advisory was issued on 9/19/21. Spartanburg Water advises customers affected by the advisory that they no longer need to boil their water prior to drinking or cooking.

Maintenance activities have been completed. Bacteriological samples were collected and analyzed by Spartanburg Water’s South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control certified laboratory. The results of the sampling indicate that the water meets state and federal standards for safe drinking water.

Main Administration Building Lobby and Lake Park Offices Closed to Public Traffic

Spartanburg Water is committed to providing for the health and safety of our employees, while continuing to provide the important services our customers and community depend on. Beginning today, we have taken the proactive steps to close the Main Lobby in our Administration Building at 200 Commerce St. to public traffic, in addition to both of our Lake Warden Offices at Lake Bowen and Lake Blalock.

While these locations will be closed to the public until further notice, our Spartanburg Water staff is continuing to provide support for in-person payments at our Administration Office drive-thru window, which remains open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. We are also offering our normal Customer Service support by phone on weekdays between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. at (864) 582-6375. Our after hours and emergency call system is fully operational as well.

We strongly encourage any customers with the capability to access our online portal at and submit payments electronically. You can also make payments by phone through our automated service at (844) 223-3041.

For those wishing to speak with one of our Watershed staff members or Lake Wardens, our staff will be available by phone – (864) 592-2240 for Lake Bowen and (864) 578-5442 for Lake Blalock. The public is welcome to drop off boat permit applications and payments using the drop boxes located on the outside of the offices, and to reach out by phone with any questions.

We understand that during these uncertain times there are many concerns you face, but we want to ensure that you know that your drinking water and wastewater utilities are safe and secure. We are continuing our dedication to serving our community and will continue to adapt as needed in order to provide our normal levels of service and support.
