Spartanburg Water customer rates unaffected by passing of 2020-2021 budget

Thursday, July 16, 2020

With the passing of the recent 2020-2021 Fiscal Year Budget by members of both the Commission of Public Works of the City of Spartanburg and Spartanburg Sanitary Sewer District on June 23, 2020, Spartanburg Water is proud to share that customers will not see a rate increase.

Even during these uncertain and difficult times for our community, Spartanburg Water’s sound financial decisions and planning have provided for a flat budget that allows the community to benefit from quality water and wastewater services without a rate increase.

“We are proud to serve such an important and essential role in providing for the public health of our community,” said Sue Schneider, Chief Executive Officer. “We strive to provide quality services, pave the way for new business in the area and maintain our community’s valuable resources – all while providing affordable rates for our customers.”

The Fiscal Year 2020-2021 approved budget reflects this strategic focus on water quality, while addressing aging infrastructure and planning for future growth.
