Residents and SWS collaborate on newly adopted Policies and Procedures document

The Commission of Public Works of the City of Spartanburg recently voted to adopt a new Policies and Procedures document to help provide guidance for residents adjoining Lake Blalock. The document takes the place of the former Lake Blalock Buffer Management Plan and goes into effect today, July 10, 2020.

A collaborative group of members of the Lakefront Property Owners’ Association, representatives from the County and Spartanburg Water worked together to finalize the document that received approval by the Commission at their June 23 meeting.

“This new Lake Blalock Policies and Procedures document builds from the successful collaboration we achieved with our adjoining neighbors on Lake Bowen,” said John Montgomery, Chairman. “We look forward to continuing the collaboration and to also working closely with those adjoining residents of Municipal Reservoir #1 to prepare their guidance document.”

The new Lake Blalock Policies and Procedures document provides guidance to those with property adjoining the Spartanburg Water System property below the 720 MSL’ Contour Line, and is now available as both an e-reading version and printable document here.
