Spartanburg wastewater treatment facility receives award for outstanding compliance record

July 3, 2019

It is with great pride Spartanburg Water announces its Cowpens-Pacolet River Wastewater Treatment Facility has earned its first Platinum Peak Performance Award for 100% compliance based on its 2018 performance.

Each year, the National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) recognizes the commitment, innovation and achievements of individuals and public agencies in the clean water community. Platinum Awards are given to facilities that meet full compliance with permits over a consecutive five-year period.

If 100% compliance is maintained beyond the initial award, Platinum Award status continues. The following Spartanburg Water-owned facilities have earned Platinum status for more than five consecutive years:

  • Clifton Wastewater Treatment Plant – Platinum6

  • Page Creek Wastewater Treatment Facility – Platinum6

  • Community of Fingerville Wastewater Treatment Facility – Platinum7

“These awards are a result of dedicated employees focused on achieving excellence in producing clean waters for the citizens of our community and the environment we all live in,” said Wastewater Treatment Manager Rick Jolley.

NACWA is the nation’s recognized leader in legislative, regulatory and legal clean water advocacy. Together with its partners, their mission is to help ensure a strong, sustainable clean water future.
