Spartanburg Water Construction Manager honored with industry award

April 1, 2019

Spartanburg Water Construction Manager Janet Cann, P.E., was recently awarded at the Water Environment Association of South Carolina’s (WEASC) statewide conference. The Henry E. Gibson Service Award is presented to recognize and honor a member of WEASC who has demonstrated outstanding service to the association through leadership and active participation in WEASC programs.

Cann was recognized by WEASC at the 2019 South Carolina Environmental Conference (SCEC) in early March, and by the Spartanburg Sanitary Sewer District Commission at its March 26 meeting. In January, the WEASC Blue Ridge Foothills District recognized Janet Cann with its Legacy Award.  This award is presented to acknowledge sustained extraordinary service, leadership and devotion to the Blue Ridge Foothills District.

“These awards recognize the professionalism and dedication Janet Cann has shown in her service to WEASC and to Spartanburg Water,” said Ronnie Champion, Spartanburg Water Director of Collection & Distribution. “Janet also delivered an important presentation at SCEC to her peers in the water and wastewater industry.”
