Spartanburg Water’s community involvement is wide and varied, but also very specific to our core mission. This service is firmly connected to our commitment to partnership and collaboration, and service projects and participation in events that illustrate and amplify our presence with important stakeholders in every sphere of the community is an important tenet of our work at Spartanburg Water. From our Day of Service, which sees more than 90 of our employees—and their families—serving a number of non-profits with skilled labor and more than 300 hours of dedicated time, to the United Way of the Piedmont’s fundraising campaign, to the RXcycle Spartanburg program, our employees are making progressive strides in the community to educate our customers and demonstrate the staff’s knowledge of the issues that impact each of us.

Collaboration is key in the new economy of the Upstate; we leverage our support of a number of important organizations with finding new and innovative ways to ensure that not only is Spartanburg Water a vital participant in the economic development efforts underway in Spartanburg County, but that it also creates lasting relationships that can enhance the direction and trajectory of our strategic vision.

Community involvement is vital to the work we do, and it carries the promise of our ability to do meaningful work that transcends generations and provides the necessary foresight to determine our next steps in the evolution of water and wastewater treatment. Our role in the larger challenges and opportunities that move the needle on the region’s leaders’ shared interests and goals is significant and recognized by the region’s leaders in many facets of the shared economy.

Our community outreach is about meeting people where they are--in schools, at events and in the community we serve. If you'd like for us to make a presentation to your group or organization, or if you're interested in touring one of our facilities, click here.
