6th Annual Paddle Fest offering multiple events

SPARTANBURG – Spartanburg Water’s signature paddling event, Paddle Fest, is changing it up a bit this spring with three Saturdays and one weekday event scheduled for May through August, concentrated on one type of paddling per event. Each event will be held at Lake Blalock Park and is free.

The dates and event descriptions are:

  • Saturday, May 20, 9 am: Educational Paddle Tour, click here to register.
  • Saturday, June 24, 9 am and 10:30 am: Beginner Kayak Class, click here to register.
  • Saturday, July 22, 9 am and 10:30 am: Intro to Stand-up Paddle boarding (SUP), click here to register.
  • Tuesday, August 1, 6 pm: After-Work Paddle Tour, click here to register.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own kayaks, canoes, Stand-up Paddle boards, and safety equipment, but a limited supply of each will be available for loan on a first-come, first-served basis.

Day-long access onto Lake Blalock will be granted with registration, and an annual permit for non-powered boats valid for use on both Lake Bowen and Lake Blalock will be available for only $5.
